Mindful Pregnancy Yoga

Pregnancy yoga is widely recommended by doctors and midwives as one of the safest forms of exercise throughout pregnancy. You can start at 14 weeks of pregnancy and continue right up until you go into labour. The benefits of a regular yoga practice during pregnancy have been well documented.

Carefully selected yoga sequences keep your body toned & supple and help relieve pain in childbirth. Yogic breathing (pranayama), relaxation (nidra) and mindful meditation (dhyana) help to induce calmness, keeping stress-levels low. The attendance of regular classes not only helps you to discover and know your birthing body, but also gives you the space and time to connect with your unborn child as you grow together.

A randomised controlled trial published in PUBMED in May 2017 ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/28438273 concluded that pregnancy yoga helps to decrease frequency of labour inductions, decreases pain, shortens second & third stages of labour and lowers the percentage of cesarean section births.
Another study found that pregnancy yoga reduces anxiety, depression and enhances well-being sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S174438811300042X.
